Errors & Omissions (E&O)
FOR COMPLETED PRODUCTIONS
E & O Insurance protects against legal actions for media risks like defamation, privacy invasion, copyright violation, and other specified wrongdoings. Once your movie is ready for distribution, we will submit it to top-rated insurers. Our goal is to find the best insurance premiums for you. Typically, signing a distribution or broadcast contract requires this type of insurance.
Distributors generally define project specific coverage for features, TVOD, AVOD, SVOD, internet, DVD, documentaries, Pod Casts, Reality TV, TV specials and series. These described policies name the productions specifically. E&O is insurance for movie distribution, whether it's for DVDs, streaming, or theatrical releases. Film Emporium also offers blanket E&O coverage for commercial production companies for corporate videos, promos and commercials that do not require title specific coverage.
E&O coverage is also available for theatrical plays.
Many producers ask us: "Once I have E&O coverage in place for a movie, will I need to renew that coverage?" In most cases you may not, as an occurrence form policy may be sufficient for the life of the movie. Click here to read "To Err (or Omit) is Human, Which Brings Up E&O"

Both Producer's and Distributor’s E & O policies provide coverage for (but is not limited to)
Errors & Omissions (E & O) Insurance for Distributor's is similar to producer’s E&O insurance. Distributor’s Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance indemnifies media distributors from lawsuits that may arise due to the content of the material they are distributing. Distributor’s E&O insurance differs slightly from Producer’s E&O in that distributors are insured for a list of titles they are distributing. For example, under distributor’s E&O insurance, a distributor is indemnified against lawsuits arising from the content of Movie X and will still be indemnified against lawsuits alleging content errors for Movie Y. Film Emporium also offers insurance for independent film distributors.
