Film Emporium offers specialized insurance programs for film schools, media education programs, and student productions, providing coverage for class assignments, student-made films, campus shoots, and institutional film projects. As many colleges and universities require proper insurance before issuing filming permits or granting location access, our policies are designed to meet those requirements.

Our Film School insurance includes broad coverage: general liability, equipment and gear protection, rented equipment coverage, location/venue liability, and optional coverage for sets, props, and production assets. This ensures students, faculty, and institutions are safeguarded whether shooting in-studio, on-campus, or off-site.

Whether you’re handling a one-time project or managing ongoing curriculum productions, Film Emporium works with top-rated insurers to deliver reliable, contract-compliant policies at competitive terms — simplifying the process so schools can focus on education and creativity, not liability concerns.

Insurance Classes

Film Emporium has had the honor and privilege of speaking at film schools around the United States. Recently, we have visited the New York Film Academy, Columbia University and the City University of New York. Our classes teach the importance of proper insurance, how to budget for insurance, and how these things can affect a production.

Classes are moderated by instructors and followed by Q&A sessions with an industry expert with over 20 years of experience. Schedule a session this semester to have us share our expertise with your school! Contact Laird Criner by Email or phone
